Why Advisory
Few advisors have run a P&L across bootstrapped, venture-backed, PE-owned, and publicly listed software businesses. Fewer still have done it across pre-revenue to £200M+ ARR, in the US, UK and EMEA. That breadth of operational experience is what makes our advice practical, not theoretical. Whether you are an investor assessing a target, a board supporting a portfolio company, or a CEO navigating a critical inflection point, we bring context that translates.
Services
We work alongside investors, boards, founders, and leadership teams to solve the problems that actually matter. No retainer treadmill. Engagements are scoped to deliver outcomes.
Buy or sell-side, we bring practical due diligence experience across commercial, operational, and cultural dimensions. For PE firms and acquirers, we assess the real health of a software business beyond the CIM. For founders preparing to sell, we help you build the story and the substance that commands the right valuation. We are as comfortable conducting desktop market mapping as we are running face-to-face customer interviews.
From pricing and packaging to sales process and customer success, we bring pattern recognition across dozens of SaaS GTM motions. Whether you are a founder making your first commercial hire, scaling beyond founder-led sales, or restructuring an underperforming team, we help you build what works.
Growth or contraction exposes every crack in the foundation. We help CEOs and portfolio company leaders design the operational infrastructure (RevOps, data, process, tooling) that drives EBITDA improvement and scalable growth without losing the speed and culture that created value in the first place.
Whether a founder is stepping back post-acquisition, a PE firm needs to professionalise the management team, or a CEO is planning their own succession, we advise on the transitions that make or break the next chapter. We have seen this from every angle.
The deal is done. Now what? We help investors and leadership teams navigate the critical first 100 days and beyond: aligning teams, retaining key talent, integrating operations, and accelerating the value creation thesis that justified the investment.
Separating hype from value requires operator judgement. We help think through first principles in customer workflows and where AI can meaningfully assist, improve, accelerate or automate their day-to-day work. We are as interested in the interfaces to technology (voice, for example) as we are in the non-deterministic models that power them. We help you assess where AI genuinely improves your product, operations and customer outcomes, and build a pragmatic roadmap to get there.
Approach
Every engagement starts with understanding your specific situation. We then scope work to deliver concrete outcomes within a defined timeframe.
An initial conversation (always free, always confidential) to understand your business, your ambitions, and the challenge you are facing. If we are not the right fit, we will say so. If we think others are better suited we will introduce them, and if we think we are stronger teaming we will bring others into the loop.
A structured assessment of the specific area(s) you need help with, grounded in data, conversations with your team, customers and/or competitors (where appropriate), and our own operational pattern matching.
A clear, prioritised plan with concrete next steps. We do not hand over a 60 page deck and disappear. We work alongside you to implement, adjust, and deliver results.
We build capability, not dependency. Every engagement is designed to leave your team stronger and more capable than when we started. Our best outcome is when you no longer need us.
Who
You do not need another strategy deck. You need someone who has sat in the chair, run the team, and delivered the number. Who will listen, synthesise, probe and prompt. The principle Corinium Advisory is built on.
Robin Smith
Robin is a C-level technology leader with over 20 years of experience scaling SaaS and enterprise software businesses from early stage to maturity across the UK, EMEA, and the Americas.
He brings deep M&A experience from both sides of the table, having led due diligence and integration across multiple buy-side acquisitions and supported a significant sell-side partial divestiture to a major institutional investor. That breadth gives him a practical understanding of what investors, boards and acquirers actually need from an operating partner.
He has led go-to-market, revenue operations, and cross-functional programme delivery at companies ranging from Series A scale-ups to global enterprises. Critically, he has operated across the full spectrum of ownership models: bootstrapped, venture-backed, PE-owned, and publicly listed, at every stage of scale. His leadership style is people-focused and pragmatic: set the vision, cut through complexity, and deliver.
Robin founded Corinium Capital as a search fund to acquire and lead a UK B2B software business. Corinium Capital Advisory is the natural extension of that mission, bringing the same operator lens to investors, CEOs, and founders who want experienced, honest guidance from someone who has done the job.
